The boots should be mid-calf black leather boots. There are a few choices you can go with:

• German Jack Boots, available at many Army/Navy surplus stores. The tend to run small, so people with bigger feet have a hard time with these.
• Engineer Boots. A round toed engineer boot works well, so long as you remove the strap across the top of the foot. The square toed boots just don't look right.
